North West Health Dept to take action after newborn babies placed on boxes instead of incubators

The North West Department of Health says it will take action against its employees who were on duty following the placing of newborn babies on boxes, instead of incubators or crib beds at the Mahikeng Provincial Hospital neonatal section.

This comes after pictures depicting babies placed inside boxes went viral on social media this week.
The incident happened last Saturday.

MEC for the department Madoda Sambatha says investigations are already under way and action will be taken against those responsible.
